Select Elite Training (Ages 11-14)
The training curriculum for this age group will be based on a combination of technical and tactical training. Developing a solid fundamental base in a variety of technical areas such as individual ball manipulation, passing and receiving, running with the ball, shooting and finishing, individual/group defending and aerial control.
This will take players into small-sided (2 v 2, 3 v 3, 4 v 4) and/or functional group exercises to help develop the tactical awareness of the individual players within a group and team framework.
Functional training will include dealing with certain game situations and scenarios in both attacking and defensive areas, working on individual responsibilities within a team unit and understanding both movement off the ball and decision-making on the ball.
Select Elite Training (Ages 15-18)
Building on the curriculum for the 12-14 group, the advanced curriculum will include elements of strength, fitness and core training. Including basic weight training, resistance, circuit training and speed work.
Technical training will consist of highly intensive and repetitive exercises to hone and develop touch and control of the ball.
The Select Elite Tactical Training will include teaching the players certain systems of play whilst also being position-specific and allow the players more exposure to their role. Functional exercises such as dealing with crosses, playing out from the back, advanced principles of shape, attacking movements and patterns of play and many more areas of the game.
