Gomez Earns Moe's Southwest Grill Scholarship

By Aaron Krepel, 03/14/19, 11:15AM EDT

Bryan Gomez became only the third recipient of the Moe’s Southwest Grill Scholarship yesterday as he and his family met with franchise owner, Lee DiPrizito at their Pompton Plains location.

Each year, through the generosity of Lee DiPrizito and the team at Moe’s Southwest Grill, one TSF Academy player is offered a $1,000 scholarship to help with their fees at the club.

“Here at Moe's we like to align ourselves with excellence, and in TSF Academy we feel we are doing just that. We're looking for someone who excels both on the field and off it, and who would benefit from the scholarship.”

To receive the scholarship players must complete an application which focuses not only on their attitude to sports, but also their involvement in community events, education and personal ethos. “I feel like academics and athletics go hand in hand. My parents have always taught me that a man that is not educated has no value. This is why it is important to have a healthy balance between the two.”

Bryan plays for the 2001 Boys at TSF Academy. His attitude, work rate and skill level has made him an integral part of the team and a shining example to all young soccer players. “TSF plays a big role in my life. My teammates and the coaches have become my family. TSF has helped me develop as a player and has helped me work towards my dream of becoming a professional soccer player.”

We would like to congratulate Bryan and his family on this huge achievement.
