TSF Academy coaches were given the opportunity today to meet with Liam Manning, the newly appointed Director of Coaching at NYCFC. Manning previously served as U23 manager at Premier League side West Ham United.

Manning met with the staff to discuss his journey and experiences prior to joining the MLS club, outlining personal and player development plans and share strategies to ensure the highest level of preparation both on and off the field.

Manning knows a great deal about player development, having overseen the development of English international Declan Rice. In nearly four years with the Premier League club, he was heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the academy including training programs, loan decisions, schedule management and coaching staff mentoring.

TSF Academy Director of Coaching Lee Bakewell said: “It’s a great opportunity to have someone with the caliber and background of Liam come to the club. All our coaches will benefit from today and we look future opportunities as a result of our continued partnership with NYCFC.”

The two clubs have been affiliated since the MLS franchise’s foundation in 2015 and the bond has offered a number of opportunities for players and coaches.
