GAME DAY TIMELINE & PREP

CONFIRM ALL UPCOMING GAMES & UPDATE ALL NECESSARY PLATFORMS
(GD -10 DAYS)

SEND GAME DAY INFORMATION TO TEAM (GD -7 DAYS)

SUBMIT REFEREE
FEES & REQUESTS
(GD - 6 DAYS)

COMMUNICATE DAILY WITH DOC FOR ANY ROSTER ISSUES
(GD -7 to -2 DAYS)

WEEKLY GAME DAY CHECK-LIST

The Head Coach is responsible for ALL game day communication and preparation for his/her teams.

Please communicate any changes, cancellations or issues promptly with Director of Coaching and Director of Operations so we can deal with them accordingly and professionally.

EVERY MONDAY (In-Season)
 

  1. Send Game Information to Team

    • includes opponent, location, address, date and time of game. 

    • If game not confirmed - advise your team a game may be scheduled and details to follow.

    • Make sure correct information is showing on Team Calendar.
       

  2. If Home Game

    • Double check Home Field is Approved via BYGA schedule.
       

  3. Submit referee fee requests (for both home and away games)

    • If the game is tentative - it should still be submitted.
       

  4. Confirm game is updated/correct in relevant League scheduling software (GotSoccer / BYGA / GOT / Modular-11 etc.).
     

  5. Confirm you have Minimum number of players available for game.

    • 7 v 7 (should have 11 minimum)​

    • 9 v 9 (should have 13 minimum)

    • 11 v 11 (should have 16 minimum)

    • If for any reason (injury, unavailability etc.) you are short on players you MUST communicate with Director of Coaching, Zone I Director, and/or other age group coaches to organize your game day roster.

    • Same game information above should be sent to guest players and invited into at least one training session during the week to prepare team for game.

 

 

EVERY TUESDAY (In-Season)
 

  1. Confirm you have all appropriate;

    • Game Day cards

    • Roster updates (GotSoccer / Mod-11 / GOT),

    • Player & Coaches Passes

    • Do not wait until Game Day - 1 to check.
       

  2. If there are any issues with game logistics due to multiple teams etc. distances you need to communicate with Director of Coaching ASAP.

EVERY THURSDAY/FRIDAY (In-Season)
 

  1. If required (due to large roster) etc. and/or level of play - confirm game day roster with team and resend ALL game information.
     

  2. Collect referee fees
     

  3. If requested by Director of Coaching for your level of team (MLS NEXT vs MLS II vs EDP vs Futures etc.) Send out Game Day Plan (Set-Pieces / Line-Up) to Team.
